A Few Days Away

We counted. This is our fifteenth time in Menorca. And yes, Menorca is that special. But it does get less quiet, much busier and more popular each year, and that's why this may be our last.

We left Joanne in charge of the house; well she is over 21. There’s very little blogging while Sue and I are away so I posted a few pictures from Menorca, both birds and photos of special places.

Don’t forget – “click the pics” for a trip to sunny Menorca.

  3. Great series of pictures, Phil. Overcrowding is a factor in many places, unfortunately. Be sure to enjoy every moment of this vacation if it may be your last to Menorca. I am sure you will find another agreeable spot.

  7. Lovely photos! I've never been to Menorca, it looks like a lovely place albeit a bit "touristy".
The bird photos are gorgeous, especially the Hoopoe and the Bee eater. Looks like the Hoopoe is feeding young... did you get to see any fledglings there?
Thanks for sharing your holiday snaps :)

  8. Yes I know it is a favourite place of you both and it is a bit sad that there are going to be too many people here for you not to go back Marvellous images. Have a lovely weekend.

  10. We just rolled in from a road trip of our own and thoroughly enjoyed your Minorcan images!

I remain jealous of the Red Kite photographs. (Okay, I remain jealous of most images of things I've never seen.)

We hope your visit is a good one, especially if it may be your last. No doubt you will locate an even more spectacular spot in the sun!

(I chuckled as I read through your "Mayday" post. If I hear of a rarity in our area, I take the opportunity to go in the opposite direction.)

Gini and I hope your new week is filled with peace and fun!

  11. Menorca does look lovely, but it's a shame it is becoming more crowded.
I enjoyed seeing all of your photographs.
Hope you are enjoying your break.
    Safe travels.

    All the best Jan

  12. Phil - it gets harder and harder to find those "remote, quiet" locations … But it sounds like you have had a good run at fifteen visits! Love that you got a couple of my favorite Hoopoe shots in this collection. Enjoy the rest of your week!
