Thank you so much for your comment Phil.I believe you are correct about it being a juvenile, and I just assumed it was a female Black Redstart because a male Black Redstart kept coming to and fro with food in it's beak. I didn't actually see it feeding the one in question, and don't even know if the male does feed it's young.
It did look a little light in colour, so you may be right. I'll look out for them next year. I certainly need more experience at identifying the birds I see on the farm. Thank you again!:) Breathtakinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03883608347810648676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4526180646938954660.post-33435801972281544632016-01-12T13:27:33.455+00:002016-01-12T13:27:33.455+00:00Hello Phil!:) Very nice captures of all the birds....Hello Phil!:) Very nice captures of all the birds. The Blue Tit is my favourite. On your header you have a photo of a Black Redstart, which looks slightly different than the one I have posted, and I'm wondering why!!! Now that we're not in East Africa (and birding in the African bush at every possible opportunity) I keep a strict eye on the many birds visiting our garden. And am rewarded amply! I'll post on WBW tomorrow. Happy birding to you Phil. Thanks for always sharing this LBB's which are so special for me to view. With those numbers, it appears you took full advantage of the opportunity. It's hard to believe you are already seeing hints of spring preparations but, as you pointed out, it's likely a result of the mild winter. Hope a late freeze doesn't catch some "early birds" unawares.

Here's hoping more "windows" of opportunity open up for your birding and ringing!

Wally Joneshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01121368850135565674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4526180646938954660.post-84394164805706891582016-01-11T16:23:38.237+00:002016-01-11T16:23:38.237+00:00Beautiful, Phil!
